Consistory Feast – Recognition Dinner & Scottie Awards
The Minneapolis Consistory traditionally hosts a Recognition Feast to thank the members of the Valley who have provided their time and efforts in the presentation of the degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in the Minneapolis Scottish Rite Temple. This feast is held the week following the One-Day Spring Reunion. Spouses, significant others and guests are invited to attend the feast in appreciation of their support of Scottish Rite members in their labors. Dinner reservations are required.
The Workers Recognition Dinner was expanded in 2001 to include a special recognition ceremony called, “The Scottie Awards”. The Scottie Awards pay a special salute to those Scottish Rite Brethren who have gone beyond what is normally expected of a worker in the valley. Loosely based on Hollywood’s Academy Awards, the Scottie Awards recognize individuals in categories such as; Best New Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Hospitality Award, Outstanding Production Crew Member, Scottish Rite Orator, Best Actor in a Leading Role, etc. Also, a special category, Degree of the Year, is presented to the Director of the Degree deemed to have done the best overall presentation of a degree. The Scottie Awards have come to be a fun time for all who attend, especially those who have been nominated for an award.
